America’s ‘Tea Party Party’ Responds to State of the Union Speech

Lancaster, PA (Jan 28, 2010)– The fast-growing Constitution Party, America’s ‘Tea Party Party’, is calling President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech a desperate attempt to calm America’s outrage at an out of control Federal government by offering too little, too late, and more of the same failed programs that provoked America’s ire. The Constitution Party pointed out that in addition, each and every “solution” proposed by the president is unconstitutional.

 The president’s speech contained countless contradictions and as one Philadelphia focus group member said “This speech shows Obama is the greatest conservationist on earth-  he recycles all his campaign speeches”!

“The State of the Union Address shows Obama’s Leftist cabal is now on the defensive. There’s no getting around the roiling discontent that’s been  percolating through the growing Tea Party movement, Town Hall meetings, the recent upset election in Massachusetts and widespread anti-incumbent sentiment,” said Constitution Party National Chairman Jim Clymer  who pointed out that Obama, whose approval rating is the lowest of any president since Nixon just one year into a term, was playing to a nation he knows wants his Big Government spending party to end“.

Wednesday’s State of the Union address was a reluctant acknowledgement that Americans won’t accept further out-of-control spending and increased debt, however Obama continued to pound the ‘more government is better’ drum. The Constitution Party has been sounding the alarm on spending, unconstitutional programs and the ever increasing power grab going on in D.C. for years.

However, the Democrats have no monopoly on spending since the Republicans have outspent the Democrats for decades each time they had control of the White House and/or Congress! That’s why, regardless of which “Big Box” party is in power we’ll continue to watch  the American people gradually become slaves in their own country unless and until we break out of the two party stranglehold”, added Clymer.

Clymer pointed to Obama’s call for “spending cuts” to help the middle class as a “disingenuous smokescreen” adding, “ Obama’s recent  plans to “help”  the  middle class he called “under assault” is  tantamount to a robber offering to “give” his victim  a few dollars from the wallet he had just stolen from him! And timing is everything. Obama called for ‘relief” for taxpayers just two days before he got up to give the State of the Union Address!

 The “spending freeze” Obama trumpeted to alleviate the “burden” on the middle class would apply only to a  small portion of the federal budget and that “freeze”  actually includes funding increases for some agencies in a budget that allocated up to 10% more money for some programs.

“Obama’s political self-preservation is behind these phony budget and tax cuts”, Clymer claimed.

President Obama continued to advance Leviathan government by overstepping the Constitutional boundaries around the Federal government. Proposals outlined in the State of the Union speech – like requiring employers to provide retirement savings programs and healthcare for employees and further wading into the student loan miasma are all unconstitutional federal encroachments.

”Obama’s “I feel your pain” rhetoric is falling on deaf ears”, noted Clymer who called on Americans to consider the president’s actions in the year since he’s been in office and weigh those against the promises he made during his campaign. “At the same time he was backpedaling on Big Government excesses, it was astounding to hear Obama fill his State of the Union speech with justification for enormous spending on Stimulus programs, bailouts and takeovers, as well as the unconstitutional wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He did that while continuing to advance a relentless attack on health care liberties despite overwhelming opposition to his brand of healthcare “reform.” Add to that Obama’s State of the Union lobbying for amnesty – another issue he refuses to listen to the majority of Americans on – and it truly boggles the mind that this man can say he’s listening to Americans.”

The Constitution Party believes our men and women in uniform were compromised by the president’s position on homosexuals in the military when he said, he would work to end the current ‘Don’t ask, Don’t tell’ policy because “it’s right.”  

 Clymer added, “President Obama’s speech was chock full of misinformation, disinformation and downright falsehoods. I hope Americans saw Supreme Court Justice Alito’s silent mouthing of the words “NOT TRUE” during Wednesday night’s speech. Those two words summed up the content of the 13 page speech and pretty much said it all.”

We need less attention in Madison on finding ways to spend our prosperity; instead we need public servants who will consistently work to add family supporting jobs to our region.”

The Truth About Abortion

Today marks the 37th anniversary of the infamous US Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision, which, in effect, legalized abortion-on-demand nationwide. The aftermath of this tragic ruling is the deaths of over 40 million (a very conservative number) innocent unborn babies. It is no hyperbole to say abortion is America’s holocaust. Think of it, every American citizen today, 37 years old or younger, has never known a country that respected and protected innocent human life in the womb. Put it another way: when Hitler’s Third Reich was at its zenith, the abortion rate was 40%. In 2003 (the last year that I checked), the abortion rate of the county in which I live was 39%. And I live in the heart of the so-called “Bible Belt.” In fact, statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be in America is not in an automobile without wearing a seat belt, or in a commercial airliner with a potential terrorist on board. Statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be is in the womb of one’s mother.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson once headed America’s largest abortion clinic in New York City. He admitted superintending over the killing of 75,000 unborn babies. He later recanted his pro-abortion activity and wrote what may be the quintessential book defending an unborn child’s right to life, “Aborting America.” Dr. Nathanson said, “There is no longer serious doubt in my mind that human life exists within the womb from the very onset of pregnancy.”

Dr. Mildred Jefferson was a surgeon at Boston University Medical Center, a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with many honors and awards. She said, “Many people try to hide behind the confusion of not knowing what happens before a baby is born. But we do not have to be confused. We in medicine and science have a different name for every stage of the development of the baby, but it does not matter at all whether you know those names or not. When a young woman has not had much opportunity to go to school and she becomes pregnant, no one has to tell her that she is going to have a baby.

“I became a doctor in the tradition that is represented in the Bible of looking upon medicine as a high calling. I will not stand aside and have this great profession of mine, of the doctor, give up the designation of healer to become that of the social executioner. The Supreme Court Justices only had to hand down an order. Social workers only have to make arrangements, but it has been given to my profession to destroy the life of the innocent and the helpless.

“Today it is the unborn child; tomorrow it is likely to be the elderly or those who are incurably ill. Who knows but that a little later it may be anyone who has political or moral views that do not fit into the distorted new order. To that question, ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’ I answer ‘Yes.’ It is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard and preserve life. A child is a member of the human family and deserves care and concern.”

How many physicians, scientists, teachers, pastors, missionaries, statesmen, musicians, businessmen, and notable contributors to society have been murdered in the womb?

At this point, I can hear someone interrupting, “What about cases involving rape or incest?”

While these cases number less than 1% of pregnancies, consider this case history: a 12-year-old girl was raped and became pregnant. “Get an abortion,” you say? Congratulations. You just killed Ethel Waters.

And as Dr. Jefferson said, just where does the acceptance of abortion lead? If we listen to the former governor of Colorado, Richard Lamm, elderly people who are terminally ill have a “duty to die and get out of the way.” (Source: New York Times)

And does anyone remember Baby Doe in Bloomington, Indiana?

A little baby was born April 9, 1982, with Down’s Syndrome in a Bloomington, Indiana, hospital. The parents refused to allow a doctor to correct a defect in the esophagus that prevented eating because the child was born with Down’s. The Indiana Supreme Court upheld the parents’ right to make this decision. Despite many couples on hand willing to adopt the child, adoption offers that came in from all over America, and an appeal pursued to the U.S. Supreme Court, Baby Doe died of starvation on April 15, 1982.

Add to this blatant disrespect for human life the potential for mandated government-run national health care–complete with cost-related rationing–and one can only imagine how the value of human life will continue to decline in these United States. Plus, if you want to do some personal research that will really send chills up your spine, start investigating the fact that many scientists and researchers are seriously discussing genetic manipulation and genetic engineering. Good grief! Our own government and military are already culpable in grotesque medical experimentation with both civilian and military personnel.

Our own Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has admitted to using military personnel as human guinea pigs for medical, biological, and mental experimentation under various programs associated with the now-infamous title, MK-ULTRA. CIA officials say the programs have all been scrapped. Don’t you believe it.

In addition, consider the testimony of Dr. Carolyn Gerster, a physician specializing in internal medicine and cardiopulmonary diseases. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland. She spent two years as a medical officer in the US Army.

Dr. Gerster told Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum, “I was asked to become a member of the American College of Physicians many years ago. It’s any honorary society of internal medicine. I was very proud right up until the day that the society gave the James D. Bruce Award for Medical Research to Dr. Saul Krugman for the following experiment. Dr. Krugman had taken living hepatitis virus MS2 and injected this living virus into 25 retarded children in Willowbrook Home for Retarded in upstate New York. This was defended on the basis that they would probably get the hepatitis virus anyway.”

Consider, too, that, contrary to what most people assume, the vast majority of physicians graduating from medical school today no longer take a Hippocratic-type oath–an oath that binds physicians to the following: “I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone. I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary [medical device] to cause an abortion.”

As Schaeffer and Koop pointed out in their book, “Whatever Happened to the Human Race?” “The Declaration of Geneva (adopted in September 1948 by the General Assembly of the World Medical Organization and modeled closely on the Hippocratic Oath) became used as the graduation oath by more and more medical schools. It includes: ‘I will maintain the utmost respect for human life from the time of conception.’ This concept of the preservation of human life has been the basis of the medical profession and society in general. It is significant that when the University of Pittsburgh changed from the Hippocratic Oath to the Declaration of Geneva in 1971, the students deleted ‘from the time of conception’ from the clause.”

Today, the ageless principles that had guided the medical profession throughout Western Civilization have been expunged from a majority of our physicians’ training and practice. And the Roe Supreme Court decision had much to do with this.

What is especially irritating about the whole abortion debate is the way the subject has been used as a political football by those on both the right and the left of the political aisle. While the national Democratic Party proudly touts itself as being “pro-choice,” (meaning, pro-murdering unborn babies), it has been the so-called “pro-life” Republican Party that is mostly to blame for legalized abortion being left as the law of the land for nearly 4 decades.

Think of it: the GOP has dominated US Supreme Court appointments for the 37 years since the Roe decision. In fact, the 1973 court that released the Roe decision was a Republican-appointed court by a 6-3 margin. The same GOP-dominated court also rendered the Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decision reaffirming Roe.

Consider still: the “pro-life” Republican Party controlled the entire federal government from the election of 2000 to the election of 2006: six long years of GOP domination of both houses of Congress, the White House, and the US Supreme Court. And in all that time not one single unborn baby’s life was saved. NOT ONE!

And, yet, each year, Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) would introduce the Sanctity of Life bill. And each year, the bill would sit in the document room of the Capitol Building and gather dust. What would Rep. Paul’s bill do? Two things: (1) It would define unborn babies as persons under the law. (2) Under the authority of Article. III. Section. 2. of the US Constitution, it would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the court. Had the “pro-life” Republican congress passed Dr. Paul’s bill, and the “pro-life” President, G. W. Bush, signed it into law, Roe v. Wade would have been effectively overturned.

So, why didn’t President Bush trumpet the bill? Where was the Republican leader in the Senate? Where was the Republican Speaker of the House? Where was Orrin Hatch? Where was John McCain? Where was Lindsey Graham? Where was Glenn Beck? Where was Rush Limbaugh? Where was Newt Gingrich? Where was Sean Hannity? Where was the National Right to Life Committee? Where were the tens of thousands of “pro-life” pastors and Christians?

And, yet, these same “pro-life” pastors, church members, and “conservatives” refused to support Congressman Paul for President in 2008, because he was not “conservative” enough. Actually, they opposed him because he opposed the war in Iraq, which means they would rather support a politician who promotes taking America into unconstitutional wars–but who will do nothing to overturn Roe and save the lives of unborn babies–than support a man who demands that the Constitution be followed, and actually had a constitutional plan to overturn Roe and end abortion-on-demand as a national “right.” No wonder Jesus noted that unbelievers often have it over believers in the brains department. (See Luke 16:8.)

I remind you that preserving life and liberty is the primary purpose of government (read the Declaration of Independence, for example). At this point, however, I think it is safe to conclude that to pretend there is any hope that Washington politicians (from either party) will do anything to overturn Roe is pure fantasy. At this point, it is up to State legislatures and governors to preserve life in their respective states. Several states are already beginning to do just that.

According to Fox News a few years back, 30 states were poised to pass laws outlawing abortion if and when the US Supreme Court ever reversed its Roe v. Wade decision. What they need to do is stop waiting for the US Supreme Court to reverse itself, and go ahead and stand on their own State authority and autonomy, and outlaw abortion in their states now, as legislators in South Dakota, Georgia, Michigan, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia are already attempting to do.

Legalized abortion is a national holocaust; an affront to our national character; a contradiction of established principles subscribed to from the beginning of Western Civilization; an insult to the principles of our Declaration of Independence; a bane of our national spirit; and a stench in the nostrils of Almighty God. That we have allowed it to continue for 37 years now stands as an indictment against this generation of Americans and bodes ominously for the well-being of our posterity.

Former Navy SEAL, professional wrestler, and Minnesota governor, Jesse Ventura, recently launched a new television show on the truTV (formerly known as Court TV) cable channel. The first episode debuted on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. And the final episode of this season aired this past Wednesday, January 13, 2010.

According to press reports, 1.6 million viewers watched the premiere episode on December 2, which set a record for the network. I was one of those viewers. And I’ve seen each of this first season’s 7 episodes.

Predictably, mainstream critics have universally condemned the series. Linda Stasi of The Washington Times said the show is “Mindless, good fun and a hoot to watch aging action stars still taking action.” Robert Lloyd of the Los Angeles Times said, “Whatever truth is out there, it’s filtered here through what is arranged more as an adventure series than a documentary.”

First of all, let me state up front that I typically disdain “reality” shows. The only ones that are any good are Les Stroud’s Survivorman and Bear Grylls’ Man vs. Wild (and I really enjoy both of those programs). The rest of the so-called “reality” shows are junk, as far as I’m concerned (okay, I did enjoy watching a few episodes of Ice Road Truckers).

Contrary to the rants of modern critics, however, Ventura’s Conspiracy Theory is not “reality” television or “mindless, good fun.” It is better investigative reporting than anything I’ve seen on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or FOX NEWS in a long, long time.

For the most part, the mainstream media have become lackeys and lap dogs for the established political order and the powerful potentates that control it. Yes, I’m saying it: we have a tightly controlled mainstream media in America today (especially at the national level). Reporters are told what to report (or more fittingly, what NOT to report) and how to report it; and any reporter or journalist who dares to step outside the box will quickly be unemployed. And for those of you journalists and reporters who are reading this right now, if you smirk at what I just said, why don’t you try it and see what happens? Anything that challenges the establishment’s order is totally off-limits. Every reporter and journalist working for the establishment media knows where the “third rail” is–and they avoid it at all costs. And the cost is TRUTH.

No wonder the critics hate Ventura’s show: here was the first season episode lineup (taken from its web site):

Week One: HAARP

Is it a communications research project or a doomsday weapon that can change the weather, shoot satellites out of orbit–and trigger mind control across the globe? Jesse Ventura and his team head north to a remote region of Alaska to confront the military installation called HAARP.

Week Two: 9/11

Jesse Ventura steps into America’s most controversial conspiracy by challenging the 9/11 Commission Report and searching for evidence that the September 11th attacks may have been an inside job. At the urging of victims’ families, he finds witnesses who claim the towers were brought down by explosives, the missing black box flight recorders were actually recovered and ground control knew the hijackers were in the cockpits before the jets took off.

Week Three: Global Warming

Whether global warming is real or not, it’s believed some people are using the issue to make billions of dollars, start a one-world government and control our lives, from the cars we drive to the foods we eat. Jesse Ventura starts with Al Gore and goes far beyond as he uncovers the evidence that leads to one man thought to be behind the global warming conspiracy.

Week Four: Big Brother

Big Brother is watching and it’s not who you think. Jesse Ventura’s investigation of government surveillance on its citizens tears the lid off a nationwide program that is thought to turn local businessmen and office workers into spies, snooping on their neighbors and ratting on their friends in exchange for information and special privileges from the FBI–including, some charge, a “license to kill.”

Week Five: Secret Societies

They’re thought to be a group of the world’s elite who meet once a year at a luxury hotel and decide how they will run the world. It’s believed they plan to thin out the population through disease–and vaccines. Jesse Ventura infiltrates the Bilderberg Group.

Week Six: Manchurian Candidate

Authors and experts warn that forces within the government have revived a program that uses mind control techniques to turn ordinary citizens into programmed assassins. This real-life Manchurian Candidate seems outlandish–until Jesse Ventura searches for the evidence and goes face-to-face with a man who claims he’s one of the killers.

Week Seven: Apocalypse 2012

It’s believed that the world is heading for disaster in 2012 and the government is preparing to save and protect the elite–while leaving the rest of us to fend for ourselves. Jesse Ventura investigates claims of top secret underground bunkers being built in places ranging from the Nevada desert to the White House, including the largest, now under construction beneath a major metropolitan airport.

As one can easily see, each of these topics is a “third rail” to the vast majority of the mainstream media–especially at the national level. Yet, Ventura (and truTV) had the guts to tackle these topics head-on. And he broached each investigation with a deliberate professionalism and dogged determination befitting a Navy SEAL.

As far as I am concerned, anyone who believes that there is no concerted effort–no conspiracy, if you please–by wealthy and powerful individuals to steal our liberties and turn us into slaves and serfs is totally not paying attention, or is in a psychotic dream world of denial, or is a compliant partner with the conspiracy.

How Christians, especially, can doubt the existence of a devilish conspiracy to trample not only our freedom, but also our faith, is doubly disconcerting. Does not Scripture plainly warn, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” (Psalms 2:1-3 KJV)

Christians, of all people, should be the first ones to join in fighting against the promoters and purveyors of this devilish New World Order that is wreaking havoc upon our country. That so many of them are not is a stain against the Church–of gargantuan proportions!

Did Ventura get every jot and tittle perfect? Probably not. Given the depth of the corruption and cover up that has gone into the promotion and implementation of the matters discussed–not to mention the limited time and resources available to Ventura and his small staff–that he was able to dig up the amount of testimony and material that he did was absolutely amazing.

I anxiously await the arrival of the entire first season on DVD. I suggest you obtain a copy as soon as they are available, as well, because this program will probably face the same fate as the CBS program JERICHO: swift cancellation. The powers that be are adamantly opposed to the light of truth shining on their dark desires and draconian designs. If you doubt that, get this:

“In a lengthy academic paper, President Obama’s regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, argued the U.S. government should ban ‘conspiracy theorizing.’

“Among the beliefs Sunstein would ban is advocating that the theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.

“Sunstein also recommended the government send agents to infiltrate [I'm sure they already do] ‘extremists who supply conspiracy theories’ to disrupt the efforts of the ‘extremists’ to propagate their theories.”

In the coming Brave New World currently being manufactured by today’s globalists, even believing “conspiracy theories” might soon be illegal. It Is A Madhouse Out There

I think we need to face it: 2010 is more than a new year; it is also part of a new era in which all vestiges of normalcy and common sense have been left behind. In other words, it is a madhouse out there. Let me give you some examples of what I’m talking about.

Example Number One: In the world of anti-gun elitists, only common people are not allowed to defend themselves.

According to the Richmond (North Carolina) Times-Dispatch, “A sheriff says a North Carolina state senator shot one of two intruders at his home and hospital officials say the man is in fair condition.

“Multiple media outlets reported that Columbus County Sheriff Chris Batten said that 74-year-old Sen. R.C. Soles of Tabor City shot Kyle Blackburn late Sunday afternoon.”

According to the report, “Batten says the shooting occurred when two men went to the senator’s house and tried to kick in his front door. No charges have been filed.”

Now, don’t get me wrong. If the fellows were indeed breaking into his home, I’m glad the senator defended himself with a firearm. The miscreant deserved to be shot. Chalk up another one for the right to keep and bear arms. “What’s the problem?” you ask. The problem is, the good senator is one of the most anti-gun politicians in North Carolina. According to gun owners in NC, Soles has made a career out of opposing lawful gun ownership for the general public. In other words, in R.C. Soles’ world, his life is worth defending with a firearm, but your life or family (and mine) can go ahead and rot.

Soles is typical of Big-Government elitists who will allow themselves the luxury of all kinds of personal protection, while denying it for the common man. They hire professional bodyguards (does anyone remember Ted Kennedy’s personal bodyguard who was caught trying to take multiple loaded weapons–and over 100 rounds of ammunition–into the Capitol Hill building a few years back?); build exotic security fences and surveillance systems; and personally obtain firearm permits that are routinely denied the common person. Then they gladly take millions of dollars from gun control zealots to finance their Big-Government, anti-freedom agendas.

My question is, how does an elitist gun grabber like R.C. Soles get elected and reelected in the great State of North Carolina?

Example Number Two: With little notice, President Obama has signed Executive Order (EO) 12425, which grants complete immunity to foreign police agencies, thereby allowing them to potentially arrest American citizens on US soil with no constitutional protections or considerations afforded those arrested. (This EO also effectively allows INTERPOL to successfully hide any and all potential information and evidence it has from the American public–including evidence of Obama’s birthplace.)

This action is so draconian and deplorable it is difficult to put in words.

According to the Washington Examiner, “Obama has given an international law enforcement organization that is accountable to no other national authority the ability to operate as it pleases within our own borders, and he has freed it from the most basic measure of official transparency and accountability, the FOIA [Freedom of Information Act].”

Of course, not only could US citizens be subjected to unconstitutional treatment at the hands of foreign governments operating freely on American soil, how do we know that our own federal government would not use foreign police organizations to do their dirty work for them? The answer is, we don’t.

The fact is, this new executive order makes it even more convenient for already overreaching federal police agencies to bypass and ignore constitutional protections for the American citizenry. Good grief! Under this EO, they would not even be required to submit to the Patriot Act, which, in itself, grants the federal government almost unlimited power to arrest, interrogate, and incarcerate just about anyone they want–with almost no constitutional accountability. But, now, this EO removes virtually every constitutional protection that may yet be intact by authorizing foreign police organizations to arrest and incarcerate American citizens at will–with ZERO accountability or oversight.

Of course, all of this is done in the name of fighting terrorism, which leads to:

Example Number Three: In order to fly commercially, the American people are now being required to remove not just their shoes–but also their clothes.

After the failed Christmas Day terrorism attempt on a Delta flight approaching Detroit, Michigan, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is planning to spend $25 million of “stimulus” funds to install 150 new full-body scan machines in airports around the country. This is in addition to the 40 full-body machines that are already in use.

Make no mistake about it: when you step into a full-body scan machine, you are being undressed in front of the screener. Do you really want TSA agents gawking at the nude body of your wife and daughters? And speaking of daughters, will someone please explain to me why these TSA agents are not guilty of watching child porn? After all, they are spending all day long looking at nude bodies–including the nude bodies of little children! If you did this, you would be arrested, incarcerated, and required to register as a sex-offender for the rest of your life. Yet, TSA agents will now be allowed to look at the nude bodies of little children and get paid for it!

Furthermore, what is to prevent the agents from storing the naked images they look at and sharing them with their friends? After all, the peeper (screener) is housed in a private room, completely removed from the public.

Then there is also the question of the risk of radiation. Any amount of radiation can increase the likelihood of cancer, which is why most medical experts advise pregnant women and children to avoid the use of radiation machines altogether.

And as Bill Press asks, “What if it doesn’t work? What’s next? We already know. The latest terrorist plan is to plant explosives inside a body cavity and detonate the bomb with a cell phone. Experts admit that, had Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab done so, no full body-scanner would have picked it up.

“So that scary new greeting at airports . . . could get even worse: ‘Welcome to the Friendly Skies. Now take off all your clothes–and bend over.’ A full search of body cavities may be next on TSA’s list of ways to keep us safe. Still want to fly home for Mom’s birthday?”

Think of it: we’ve spent nearly $100 billion on national security intelligence gathering, and yet, the federal government allowed this Abdulmutallab idiot–a foreigner commonly known to be a security risk–to board an American jetliner. (While at the same time, police agencies are instructed to be on guard against American citizens who may have voted for Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin, or returning Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.) But that’s just par for the course with the powers that be these days. They routinely allow people to fly into America from countries known to be sympathetic to terrorist organizations. Furthermore, our national borders are open sieves for virtually any and all illegal aliens. And just watch: it won’t be long into this new year before Barack Obama and John McCain join together in another push for amnesty for illegals. But now, you and I are being required to be electronically strip-searched when we want to board a commercial airliner.

Bill Press also makes a good point by comparing the “war on terror” with the war against drunk driving. He says, “Consider drunk driving. The best way to stop it would be to station a cop outside every bar to test every customer leaving the premises. No matter how much we abhor drunk driving, Americans would never tolerate that–even though drunk drivers killed 11,773 people in 2008. Only 876 people died worldwide in plane crashes.

“Same with airline security. We must accept the fact that there will always be risks. The idea that we have to choose between safety and privacy is not only a false choice, it’s a dangerous one. For once we give up even the tiniest slice of our privacy, we’ll never get it back.” Amen.

Or, as Benjamin Franklin said, “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

If we were really serious about making airline travel safer, we would immediately cease and desist from this incessant infatuation with meddling into the internal affairs of foreign countries, stop invading and occupying foreign countries, and stop our own State Department and CIA from sticking their noses where they don’t belong–which only serves to agitate the world against us. We’d stop giving out travel visas to people from countries sympathetic to terrorists; seal the US border–especially the southern border; and allow pilots, policemen, and any other citizen lawfully qualified to carry a firearm to carry those weapons on board the aircraft. (It was, after all, an American citizen–not an Air Marshal or other federal agent–that stopped and subdued Abdulmutallab.) But instead, we continue to push the envelope toward a police state. One could even get the idea that our federal government may actually want terrorists to enter our country and board our airplanes so that they might use them as an excuse to exact greater and greater acts of oppression upon the US citizenry.

“Oh, yeah! I’m way out of line!” (To quote Jay Leno.)

Like I said, it’s a madhouse out there. And it appears to me that the lunatics are running the asylum.

Why the Fed Likes Independence

“Last week it was revealed that when Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner was Chairman of the New York Federal Reserve, he urged AIG officials not to disclose to the Securities Exchange Commission relevant details of agreements with banks to bail out Goldman Sachs.  Apparently he felt at the time that regulators and the public would be angry that taxpayer money was used to fully compensate bankers who made some horrifically bad investment decisions.  These banks should have suffered the consequences of the huge risks they were taking.  After all, they kept plenty of rewards when times were good.  Instead, the Fed found a way to socialize these major losses so these banks could survive and continue making more bad decisions, at the expense of the American people and the value of the dollar.”
